100 miles of baby steps

Hi all,

Just a quick note before I head over to PRFitness for Yoga.  I just entered my food for the day and looked back at my week expecting to see disaster.  But it wasn't as bad as I thought!  Not perfect by any stretch, we went to a mexican restaurant last night and I haven't been to one since before the program started.  Wow, my love of queso blanco with a BudLight has not been erased from my memory, it was going strong!  But what I am learning is that I may never be the all beans/salad/no carbs eater, but I do believe that I will continue to improve with every new food tried and add to our routine taking the place of less healthy standby's.  And with the consistent physical activity my body is a little more forgiving of my missteps.  8-)   It has taken me 37 (or as of last week, 38) years to get myself into this condition (physically & mentally) and I will not force the expectation of the process undoing itself in 12 weeks.  I love what I have learned up to this point in BTWG and look forward to using the info & insight long after the program ends to continue my physical and spiritual "restoration".

Peace to all, hope to see everyone on Saturday.  Carrie

Week 5 - Whoa Nelly!

I saw a couple of posts that are dealing with their "girl weeks". 8-(  I am in the same boat and it has been crazy!  It came earlier than usual and hit me like a truck.  My recently acquired ability to take or leave carbs went completely out the window.  I was not able to physically do anything but the bare minimum to get through my day on Monday, so I didn't get to my cardio workout until yesterday morning.  Will double up my cardio & strength today now that my body feels like it can lift more than a pencil.  Not my preferred way of getting all my workouts in, but I figure it is better than ditching them all together.  I will be doing strength again tomorrow before I go into yoga with Chris.  4 weeks ago that would have been a no go, but I think my body is up for it now.

Happy Wednesday everyone.  Carrie

Thanks for the sunshine!!!

I just came in and WOW, I can't believe how warm it feels outside today!  I did my interval training a day early and attempted to get my running legs back in gear.  I couldn't pass up a day to work out in the sun!  With so much ice and the occassional hip ache, I have been keeping my cardio workouts to my elliptical machine.  Works well for me, less wear and tear on my knees, hips and lower back.  But there is just no feeling like running outside!  If anyone happens to see this before sundown and hasn't been outside yet-get going, you'll feel great!

Winding down week 2

Felt the "yucks" this week, but made it through.  Now that I have that out of my system, I am preparing for a fresh and motivated week 3!  See you at the meeting tomorrow!

Day 3!

Day 3 and my cardio workout is done as well as my breakfast log.  That's a pretty good feeling!  Yesterday's strength training was a shock to my system.  I didn't expect an innocent looking jump rope to be such a workout weapon, I was shaking by the end of the first circuit!  Today I am a little sore going down the stairs, but I am in a much better mood than I thought I would be on Day 3!   Still no soda or desserts.  I am also tracking my sodium in my foods and I am surprised at some of the levels in "healthy foods".  Take care!

First Entry!

First entry on my first Blog ever, check!  Husband has agreed we will no longer stock Diet Dr. Pepper in the house, check!  Our first meeting is today and, while actually feeling a little anxious about starting the project, I definitely feel ready.  Look forward to seeing everyone @ PR Fitness Brownsburg!  Carrie
